Join us on Saturday, October 17th, for a very special event celebrating the launch of our newest literary journal, The Untold Story of the Real Me: Young Voices from Prison. Purchase tickets or donate books to youths in need!

The Untold Story of the Real Me: Young Voices from Prison is a collection of poetry by young men charged and incarcerated as adults in DC while under the age of 18. The journal also features personal essays by some of the authors who have completed their sentences and returned to the community. Several of the featured poets will be in attendance to read their work and sign books.

The event will also feature special literary guest Michael Mattocks (author, Unlikely Brothers: Our Story of Adventure, Loss, and Redemption) and Master of Ceremonies Bomani Armah (poet, hip hop artist). There will be music, food, drinks, and raffle prizes (each ticket holder gets one free drink). Tickets include admission to the event and one copy of The Untold Story of the Real Me.

Individuals are also invited to make a donation to provide copies of the literary journal to schools, libraries, and juvenile facilities.
