I am reading your poem on February 14: Valentines Day! This is a beautiful love poem, and I hope you have had or will have the chance to share it with your muse. My favorite line was the first one because I have never read about a love compared to sweet tea. It draws on the archetype of sweet tea: wholesome, refreshing, reminder of home, and sweeeeet.

I have come across this poem as part of a college course aimed at community engagement.
This is such a sweet poem. You use so many beautiful metaphors in this. I think it really speaks to how powerful love can be when you find the right person. My favorite line is “candle in the dark.” It is such an accurate description of having a loved one, that’s your everything, while everything else in your life feels so dark. Love is a great feeling that can be so freeing from the pain and you describe that so well! Thank you for letting the world read your words!
